The epitome of consistency and sheer brilliance, Jasprit Bumrah continued to shine in the ongoing Boxing Day Test against Australia in Melbourne. The right-arm pacer opened the floodgates for the visitors, which swung the pendulum in the visitors’ favor.
Bumrah secured an early breakthrough of Sam Konstas (8), who delivered the goods in the first innings with his impressive knock of 60.
The 31-year-old made Travis Head (1) his bunny for the second time in the game, as the southpaw was caught at the square leg. With this dismissal, the speedster reached the milestone of 200 Test wickets.
A few balls later, Bumrah forced out-of-form Mitchell Marsh (0) to play a false shot and get caught behind. Soon, he breached past the defense of Alex Carey (2) to complete a breathtaking spell of 3-1-4-3. His figures in the second innings read as 24-7-56-4.
With this special performance, Jasprit Bumrah etched his name into the history books with 200 wickets and a sub-20 average. On that note, let's take a look at the five bowlers with the best averages for bowlers with 200 or more Test wickets.
