After the ball-tampering scandal hit the Australian cricket, Smith was removed from the captaincy role with immediate effect & Tim Paine was handed captaincy role till next world cup in Test & ODI format.

Making his debut far back in 2009, Tim Paine has been in & out of the Australian outfit due to injury & performance. After the retirement of great Adam Gilchrist, Australians tried many wicket-keepers but didn't succeed to find the next Adam Gilchrist.

Tim Paine is obviously the selector’s choice, due to captaincy experience at the domestic circuit. But his inconsistency with the bat has raised debates among cricket pundits. Though he is trying to bring some revolution in Australian cricket history, with his captaincy (hand-shake with opposition team before the match), he needs to be lead from the front both with the bat, as well as captaincy skills, to successfully defend the title for the 6th time.
