The other half of India's terrific opening partnership, Shikhar Dhawan has been consistently scoring in this format for over 6 years now and it is no surprise that he his fourth in this list. The Southpaw is one of the most destructive openers in world cricket and he alongside Rohit Sharma are recognized to be one of the best opening pairs to ever play for India.
Dhawan has played 130 ODIs, scoring 5480 runs at an amazing average of 45 with 27 half centuries and 17 centuries. The 33-year-old was unfortunately ruled out of the world cup due to a broken thumb but 'Gabbar' did manage to leave with a bang as he blazed Australia around with a magnificent hundred.
#3 Hashim Amla (C/Rate: 40.91)
South Africa's mainstay at the top of the order and one of the best batsmen of this generation. The South African has been breaking records in ODI cricket since he started playing the format and it wouldn't be wrong to say that he might be the best opener ever produced by South Africa.
In the 181 ODIs that Amla has played, he has scored 8113 runs at an average of almost 50 with 39 half centuries and 27 hundreds. Amla isn't having the best of World Cups in England but the 36-year-old is still one of the very best cricket has to offer.
