The batsman who is credited with changing the dynamics of England’s batting in the new millennium, Jos Buttler, has had an extraordinary ODI career with his national team so far. As of 2016, three of England’s fastest ODI hundreds belonged to him – a huge achievement indeed, considering no other player from the country ranks in the top 40.
The flip shot over long-on and the ramp shot over the keeper remains some of his greatest inventions and he often resorts to six-hitting when the required run-rate has reached daunting levels.
He was a revelation in his innings against New Zealand, where he scored 129 in 77 with 5 sixes and then in his 52-ball 116 against Pakistan – a knock that included 8 sixes. He had also scored a 74-ball 121 against Sri Lanka. All these knocks have effectively cemented his place as one of the biggest-hitters in the world.
