Indian skipper Virat Kohli is the latest to reach 6000 Test runs landmark. He reached the landmark when he scored a boundary off James Anderson in the first innings of the fourth Test at Southampton. He was dismissed after scoring 46 runs.

#1. Sunil Gavaskar (117 innings)
Little master holds the record for minimum innings taken by an Indian to reach 6000 Test runs mark. Sunny Gavaskar got to 6000 runs mark on January 1981 vs Australia at Adelaide cricket ground.
Legendary opener Gavaskar was also the first player in the history of cricket to reach the five-figure mark ie.10000 Test career runs.
#2. Virat Kohli (119 innings)
Virat is fastest Indian in terms of time taken since debut (7 years and 71 days) to score 6000 Test runs, but took just two innings more than Gavaskar to become the second fastest Indian to do so.
Kohli, who is the leading scorer of the ongoing Test series against England, hit a ball off James Anderson for a four to achieve the feat. With the form this guy is in, it won't take him much time to reach to 7000 Test runs.
#3. Sachin Tendulkar (120 innings)
It took master blaster 120 innings over the span of 10 years and 108 days to reach 6000 Test runs tally. Sachin reached the landmark on 2 Jan 2000 vs South Africa playing at Bengaluru.
Sachin scored a plethora of runs in the second decade of his career. He hung up his boots as the highest run-getter in Test cricket with 15921 runs to his name.
#4. Virender Sehwag (121 innings)
Nawab of Najafgarh took 121 innings to reach 6000 Test runs by bashing bowlers for which he was known. Sehwag achieved the feat on 2 December 2009 vs Sri Lanka at Brabourne Stadium, Mumbai.
The fifth highest run-getter in the history of Indian cricket, Viru is the only Indian to hit two triple centuries in Test matches.
#5. Rahul Dravid (121 innings)
Rahul Dravid got to 6000 career runs in his 125th Test innings in the match played at Adelaide between 12-16 Dec 2003.
Dravid bolstered Indian batting line-up with his extraordinary defense and calmness at the cricket pitch. He retired as the fourth highest scorer in Test cricket with 13000+ runs registered to his name. The legend was aptly known as 'The Wall'.
