Australia somehow always bring out the best in Yuvraj Singh. India met Australia in the knock out quarterfinal at Ahmedabad. Batting first Australia made a fighting 260 thanks to a brilliant centuryfrom their captain Ricky Ponting.

In reply, India started off well with half centuries from both Sachin and Gambhir. Yet, the game seemed to be in the balance when Dhoni fell with 187 on board. With 70 odd runs to win, a partnership between Yuvraj and Raina ensured India victory as they went on to face arch rivals Pakistan in the semi finals.

This was just one of the many important knocks/ contributions Yuvraj made during this World Cup, and rightly took away the Man of the Tournament award.
