Among Indian wicket-keepers, only MS Dhoni has effected more Test dismissals than Syed Kirmani's tally of 160 catches and 38 stumpings. After showcasing his admirable dexterity against the venerated spin quartet on challenging pitches during the early phase of his career, he stitched together an enterprising partnership with pace spearhead Kapil Dev in his latter years.
