Travis Michael Head is a professional Australian cricketer born on 29th December, 1993.Head made his international debut in 2016 and initially excelled in white-ball cricket. He earned his first Test call-up in 2018, scoring centuries against Sri Lanka and New Zealand.

Though he faced ups and downs, including being dropped during the 2020-21 India series, he remained a force in domestic cricket. His return to form earned him the Player of the Series award in the 2021-22 Ashes. In 2023, he played pivotal innings, including 163 in the World Test Championship final.

Travis Head made his IPL debut for the first time in 2024 and signed a one-year INR 6.8 crore deal with the Sunrisers Hyderabad. Travis Head has also been seen playing for the Adelaide Strikers in the Big Bash League since 2012.

According to Times of Sports, Head receives around $951,000 as part of the annual retainership contract, after being retained for the past three years. Along with that, he receives an AUD 10,00 per T20 match, AUD 15,000 per ODI match and AUD 20,000 per Test match, if he gets selected in the final roster.

Travis Head had declared for the first time in the 2024 IPL auction, where many teams had a bidding war due to his successful performance in the 2023 World Cup. Finally, he was selected by the Sunrisers Hyderabad for INR 6.8 crore and signed a one-year deal with the franchise. After a successful campaign, Head was not retained by the Sunrisers and henceforth will take part in the IPL 2025 auction.

Travis Head has so far participated in only one IPL season where he signed a one-year contract with Sunrisers Hyderabad, due to which before the 2024 IPL, Sunrisers Hyderabad will have to decide whether they will retain Travis Head or he will have to return to action once again.

Travis Head T20 League Contract

Apart from IPL, Travis Head is also seen playing in Big Bash League, Major Cricket League, and Vitality Blast held in England. According to ESPN, Travis Head has signed a one-year contract with Adelaide Strikers in the Big Bash League but he has not played in the league since the 2022/23 season.
