Lara is the only batsman to have ever scored a century, a double century, a triple century, a quadruple century and a quintuple century in first-class games.

Glenn McGrath stated that Lara is the greatest batsman he has ever bowled to. In his time, the bowling attack consisted of many legendary bowlers, and thus he is considered to be a batsman of high calibre.

Brian Lara's ODI record of more than 10,000 runs at an average of almost 41 was great, but somehow, his amazing Test innings overshadowed the same. Incidentally, Lara became the second batsman after Sachin Tendulkar to score more than 10,000 runs in both forms of the game.
