The Ashes third Test has been a bad journey so far for the Australians. But their player Adam Voges has provided a rare highlight for the team when he caught an unbelievably lucky catch to dismiss England skipper Alastair Cook on the first day.

Cook couldn’t believe it first when he got out, but soon Voges made everyone believe that he caught it without even looking at it.

After the Aussies were bowled out for 136 in the first innings, the home team captain Cook came into bat with his fellow opener Adam Lyth. He looked in fine touch as he was finding it easy to play the ball in the gaps in score runs.

The Australian seamers – Starc, Johnson, Hazlewood – were struggling against Cook. Soon, captain Michael Clarke introduced Nathan Lyon in the 18th over.

It was the second ball of the over, the off-spinner pitched it short. Cook went back foot and pulled it with power. Camera panned with his shot but the ball was nowhere in the sight. One Australia soon started to cheer and soon commentators came to know what exactly happened there. It was Voges at the short leg who somehow, clings on while trying to take evasive action.
