Pakistan batsman Ahmad Shehzad was caught on camera allegedly making a religious comment to Sri Lankan all-rounder Tillakaratne Dilshan.
The two players while going back to the pavilion were seen in a conversation where Shehzad said: "If you're a non-Muslim & you turn Muslim, no matter whatever you do in life, you'll go straight to heaven."
In the video it is also clear that Shehzad said “be ready for fire” for which Dilshan jokingly replied back “I don’t like heaven”.
The aggressive right-handed innovative batsman known for his Dilscoop, had converted into Buddhism at the age of 16 as he was earlier known as Tuwan Mohammed Dilshan.
There are reports that PCB would order a probe into the incident that happened after the third ODI, while PCB has defended Shehzad saying that the batsman has informed the PCB that it was a personal chat he had with Dilshan.
“Ahmed has informed the PCB that it was his personal chat with Dilshan, and there was nothing more to it. What we understand is that no Sri Lanka Cricket official or our own manager lodged any complaint”, Pakistan media manager Agha Akbar said while taking to Associated Press.
Here is the video of the conversation between Shehzad and Dilshan after the end of the 3rd ODI between Sri Lanka and Pakistan:
