In 2003, ex-West Indian skipper Brian Lara set a new Test record when he scored 28 runs in an over off-arm spinner Robin Peterson in the first Test against South Africa at Johannesburg. Lara started the attack with a four, followed by two consecutive sixes and three successive fours. The previous record was 26 runs conceded by Younis Khan of Pakistan against New Zealand’s Craig McMillan in the Hamilton Test in 2000-01, with MacMillan scoring 26 runs in an over.
