Defending Champions of the Vijay Hazare Trophy Karnataka had one of the easiest day on the fields, as they dismissed a clueless Kerala side for a mere 49, and quickly reached the target, in their match at the M. Chinnaswamy stadium in Bengaluru.
After Kerala had won the toss in the morning and decided to bat first, they were left searching for answers, as Karnataka pacers Vinay Kumar and Aravind, troubled the top order, with wickets at regular intervals.
It was only then that Shreyas Gopal was introduced into the attack and created an immediate impact on the game, and eventually turning the match in favour of the home side. His spell of 5/19 ripped apart the middle order, as the visitors were shot out for a paltry score of 49. Karnataka then raced to the target in less than 6 overs of play.

In yet another low scoring encounter, Baroda overcame Tripura’s score of 58, in their match in Delhi. Ambati Rayudu played a quick-fire cameo of 31 off just 15 balls, after Baroda suffered an intial jolt.

In the third low-scoring affair of the day, Andhra were dismissed for 87 by Vidarbha in Delhi. Andhra, who are without the services of their captain Mohammed Kaif, struggled right from the word go, and lost comprehensively as Vidarbha chased down the total without loss in the 20th over.

In the KSCA ground in Alur, Mahendra Singh Dhoni played a little cameo knock (37 off 30) towards the end of Jharkhand’s innings , as his team Jharkand beat Railways by 115 runs, to register their fifth victory in the tournament and seal their place in the quarter-final.
Jharkand 211/5 (45 overs) beat Railways 96 (37 overs), by 115 runs.
Ajinkya Rahane’s classy ton came in vain as Rajasthan chased down Mumbai’s total of 301, with an over to spare in Hyderabad. Ashok Menaria played a composed knock of 86, but the real hero for Rajasthan was former Delhi batsman Rajat Bhatia who remained unbeaten on 94* to hit home the winning runs.

Indian star spinner Ravichandran Ashwin produced an all-round performance to help his team Tamil Nadu chase down Hyderabad’s target of 230, with more than 2 overs to spare, in Hyderabad. He picked up 2/28 with the ball and also scored a useful 36 in the middle order.
Hyderabad 230(49.2) lost to Tamil Nadu 233/7 (47.5) by 3 wickets, in Hyderabad.
