Virat Kohli excited about the English tour

He may have lost his top spot in the ICC’s ODI batsmen rankings, but his thoughts right now are clearly on the five match Test series in England which begins next month. The special feature about this tour for Virat is that he will be playing Test Cricket for the very first time in England, a place which is considered as the motherland of the sport. He would certainly want to make an impact with the bat and help India win after the debacle they suffered in his absence in 2011.

Before departing to England, the Indian Vice Captain took to twitter to reveal how happy and excited he was ahead of this huge challenge. Kohli mentioned that every tour gives him a feeling as if he is playing for the national team for the first time.

He would also be keeping a close tab on his favourite team Germany during the tour as he had previously stated about his admiration for them. He would be hoping to see them in the finals of the World Cup on the 13th of July, the same day the first Test at Nottingham gets over.

Prior to leaving India, he also took part in an MRF photoshoot alongside Indian race driver Gaurav Gill.

Earlier this month, he won the CEAT cricketer of the year award which would have been a huge boost for him ahead of the hectic new season for Team India.
