One of the greatest players to have ever played this game, Virat Kohli made his international debut for India in a one-day international against Sri Lanka in 2008. Since then, the 33-year-old run-machine has gone on to score more than 24,000 international runs across formats with the help of 71 centuries- 27 in Tests, 43 in ODIs and one in T20Is.

Stats of Virat Kohli as captain
Virat Kohli led India with distinction in all three formats between January 2017-2022. He took over the Test leadership from MS Dhoni during the 2014/15 tour of Australia, and over the course of the next seven years, he took India to the summit of rankings. He did not lose a single Test series at home during his tenure and led India to series win in Australia (2018-19), a 2-2 draw in England (2021/2022), consecutive series wins in Sri Lanka (2015 & 2017), West Indies (2016 & 2019) and important wins in South Africa.
While he may not have led India to an ICC title in limited-overs formats, he spearheaded the Men in Blue to bilateral series wins all over the world. Besides all this, Kohli’s best years as a batter coincided with his captaincy phase as the Indian superstar created and broke new records with the bat during his reign.
As opposed to internationals, Virat did not have a great time as the Royal Challengers Bangalore skipper as he failed to lead his franchise to a single IPL title between 2013-21.
