Virat Kohli's centuries in ODI chases

Virat Kohli scored his 19th one-day internationalcenturyin India'sAsia Cup opener against Bangladesh. Also, it was his 13th hundred while chasing, of whichIndia havewon 12 matches. This incredible Indian batsman has become a permanent crisis man for the Men in Bluein ODIs. Following is alist of Kohli's centuries while batting second:

#1 107 vs. Sri Lanka, Kolkata

Virat Kohli scored his debut one-day international hundred against Sri Lanka at Eden Gardens, Kolkata, in 2009. Partnering Gautam Gambhir, who ended on 150* to guide India to an emphatic victory, he scored 107. Sri Lanka had scored 315 runs in the first innings. While chasing, India lost the wicket of Virender Sehwag and Sachin Tendulkar for just 23 runs. From there on, Kohli and Gambhir recorded a 224-run partnership for the 3rd wicket to see India home.

#2 102* vs. Bangladesh, Dhaka

An unbeaten 102 by Virat Kohli helped India defeat Bangladesh in the Tri-Nation Tournament held at Bangladesh. Bangladesh batted first to post 247 runs. Kohli's valiant century helped India chase down the total in just 43 overs.

#3 118 vs. Australia, Visakhapatnam

Australia batted first and posted a mammoth total of 289 runs. In reply, India lost both their openers for just 35 runs on the board. Virat Kohli came in at number 3 and scored 118 runs to lead his team to a memorable victory against the Kangaroos. Kohli got support from Yuvraj Singh (58) and Suresh Raina (71).

#4 112* vs. England, Delhi

Virat Kohli's unbeaten 112 helped India to defeat England by 8 wickets. By virtue of his century at Delhi, India took a 2-0 lead over their opponents in the series. England had scored 237 runs batting first. India lost their first 2 wickets for just 29 runs, but Kohli and Gambhir (84*) guided India home.

#5 117 vs. West Indies, Visakhapatnam

Virat kohli's spirited 117 wrestled the game away from West Indies at Visakhapatnam. It was the second ODI of the five-match series, one in which the West Indies had posted 269 runs in the first innings. In response, Kohli was ably supported by Rohit Sharma, who scored an unbeaten 90, to help India seal the match.

#6 133* vs. Sri Lanka, Hobart

India went into this match facing an uphill task to qualify to the finals of the Commonwealth Bank series. Sri Lanka had posted 320 runs in 50 overs; but India had to chase down the total in 40 overs to qualify for the finals by virtue of run rate. The lionhearted Virat Kohli came into action and scored an unbeaten 133 off 86 balls, with India closing off the chase in just 36.4 overs.

#7 183 vs. Pakistan, Dhaka

The 5th match of the Asia Cup 2012 was played between India and Pakistan. Chasing a mammoth 330 to win, India suffered a early blow when Gautam Gambhir got out to the second ball of the innings. Virat Kohli then took the responsibility on his shoulders and guided India to a historic victory by scoring 183 runs off 148 balls. This is also Kohli's highest ODI score to date.

#8 128* vs. Sri Lanka, Colombo

Chasing 252, India were in a spot of bother. At one point, India were struggling at 109/4 in 24 overs. With the ball spinning and the Sri Lankan bowlers confident, the task seemed difficult for the Indians. Yet again, Kohli stepped in and score 128* off 119 balls to help India win the match and the series.

#9 115 vs. Zimbabwe, Harare

Virat Kohli went into this series as the stand-in captain in the absence of MS Dhoni, who was rested for the tour. Batting first, Zimbabwe had scored 228 runs. Kohli, in response, played a captain's knock by scoring 115 to guide India to a comfortable victory.

#10 100* vs. Australia, Jaipur

This was the second ODI of the series. Batting first, Australia had scored a mammoth 359 runs. In reply, India started strongly. After Shikhar Dhawan's dismissal, Virat Kohli stepped in and supported Rohit Sharma well to reach the total with ease. Kohli blasted the Australian bowling attack to reach 100 off 52 balls.

#11 115* vs. Australia, Nagpur

Situations were exactly the same as the second ODI. Australia had set a target of 351. Rohit Sharma started well, along with Shikhar Dhawan, but got out for 79. Virat Kohli came in and scored an unbeaten 115 to guide India to victory.

#12 123 vs. New Zealand, Napier

This is the only match India have lost in a chase despite Virat Kohli scoring a century. Chasing 293 runs, the Delhi player scored 123 but did not get enough support from the other batsmen; hence India were bowled out for 268 to lose the game.

#13 136 vs. Bangladesh, Fatullah

In the absence of MS Dhoni, Virat Kohli was given the responsibility to lead India at the Asia Cup 2014. Bangladesh scored 279 in 50 overs. India lost both of the openers for just 54 runs on the board. Captain Kohli showed the way by scoring 136 runs to guide the team to an easy victory in their tournament opener.
