Virat Kohli, who was India’s stand-in skipper in the match against West Indies yesterday, admitted that the team missed MS Dhoni‘s vast experience in the pressure situations during the match, which India eventually lost by one wicket.
Dhoni suffered from cramps during batting, which forced him not to take the field in the second innings, as the injury was looking rather bad. Virat Kohli, being the vice-captain, led the side in his absence.
“There were times when you are under pressure and you miss him (Dhoni) because he remains calm under pressure,” Kohli admitted at the post-match presentation ceremony.
He also felt that the pitch changed it’s behavior remarkably when West Indies batted.
“The way the wicket played in the second innings, the score wasn’t enough, but it was completely different in the morning, it was damp, it became better for batting later on,” Kohli added.
