Pakistan is all set to lock horns against the West Indies at the UAE from 23rd September. The tour comprises of 3 Tests and as many ODIs and T20s including the day-night Test to be played in Dubai on October. Australia had hosted the first-day night Test last year and it attracted fans who could watch the match after working hours.
Pakistan is also scheduled to play a pink ball Test Down Under in their next tour but the West Indies Test will be the first time Pakistan would play in a pink ball Test under floodlights. The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) said in a statement it “will host its first ever day-night Test match from October 13-17 to be played with the pink ball under lights at the Dubai cricket stadium”.
The PCB had offered to host the Twenty20s in Pakistan but the Caribbeans refused on security issues. Pakistan hasn’t hosted any cricket apart from a small series against minnows Zimbabwe last year since a terrorist attack on Sri Lankan team bus in 2009.
