One record which is likely to be broken in the first match itself is that of most fours in T20Is. The record is currently jointly held by former Sri Lankan opening batsman Tillakaratne Dilshan and India’s batting maestro Virat Kohli. Both have 223 fours to their name in T20Is.

While Dilshan took 79 innings to reach the milestone, Kohli did it in just 62 innings. The latter may not be a big hitter of the cricket ball, but he more than makes up for it with his impeccable timing and placement. The current Indian captain can hit fours at will to any part of the ground.

Afghanistan’s dashing opener Mohammad Shahzad too is hot on the heels of these two with 218 fours. Rohit Sharma is another contender for breaking this record with 207 fours. Given the form he is currently in, we can expect a close fight between Kohli and Rohit in chasing this record.
