Why the current Indian cricket team Is the best ever Indian squad to play overseas

3rd Momentum ODI: South Africa v India
The Indian cricket team has been on a roll since winning the third Test against South Africa

The Indian Cricket Team has been dominating throughout the ongoing South Africa tour. Despite a shaky start in the first two Test matches, India bounced back and has been successful throughout the rest of the tour.

The bowling and batting departments have worked together as a powerful unit. Let's have a look at the factors that matter to this team's success. For the first time ever, the entire Indian pace attack has been seen as a strong cohesive unit and could be considered at par with all the world-class fast bowling attacks.

The pace attack of Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Jasprit Bumrah, Mohammed Shami, and Ishant Sharma in Tests have looked world class, with their speed and variation in pace, apart from apt line and length. The medium pace attack of Hardik Pandya has also done the trick whenever the team needed.

The spin attack of Ravichandran Ashwin in the longest format of the game, and that of the young spin duo of Yuzvendra Chahal and Kuldeep Yadav in the shorter formats of the game has been above par. It was able to give a tough challenge to the entire South African batting line up, as evidently seen in the ongoing tour.

For the very first time, the Indian bowlers have looked capable, and have taken 20 wickets in all the three Test matches played. In the shorter formats of the game, spin bowling has accounted for more than half of all the wickets taken in the entire series.

The solid batting display of captain Virat Kohli, opener Shikhar Dhawan, and Ajinkya Rahane have been crucial to India's dominance. They also have an anchor in Cheteshwar Pujara to direct the flow of the innings.

To add to this, the all-round display by Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Hardik Pandya as far as batting is concerned, particularly in Test matches, has been commendable. Particularly, Bhuvneshwar has gained a lot of confidence and has been in great touch with both the ball and the bat. He certainly needs to be promoted in the batting order.

The presence of such confident and fit players, adds to the depth of the Indian batting line up. The dynamic and energetic fielding shown by the Indian team on the field has proven why they are no less than any other team. Young emerging players like Hardik Pandya and Shreyas Iyer are always eager to put in their best on the ground.

Players such as Kohli and Rahane have always been exemplary in close-in fielding. Even the senior players like Shikhar Dhawan, Rohit Sharma, and Mohammed Shami have been displaying their fielding skills on the ground.

The aggressive captaincy of Virat Kohli has inspired all the members of the team to give more than a hundred percent on the field. Kohli has led from the front with a superb batting display in Tests, ODIs, and T20s.

His positive aggression has forced the Indian team to come out of a relaxed and lax attitude, which had let many opportunities slip from their fingers in the past. Of course, in the shorter format, MS Dhoni is always there on the field to support the team with his cool thinking and years of experience.

The way the Indian cricket team is performing now, it proves to the world emphatically that it deserves to be at the No. 1 rank in Tests and ODIs. It won't be a far-fetched statement to say that this team will dominate in the upcoming tours of England and Australia, something that previous squads have been unable to do in the past.

India will be a top contender for the ICC World Cup 2019, which is scheduled to be hosted by England and Wales. The current Indian cricket team does not look to barely win the series, it shows a keen intent on dominating and winning every match it plays.
