Mayank Agarwal has been scoring runs for fun in the domestic cricket for years. The Karnataka batsman finally got his opportunity to represent India in the Test series vs Australia in 2018. The Indian opener has played two Test matches but he is yet to make his ODI debut.

Mayank came into the reckoning for the World Cup squad after an impressive season in the Indian Premier League. He was not picked in the original squad but he got an opportunity to join the squad as a replacement for injured Vijay Shankar. Mayank was a part of the squad but he did not get an opportunity to play any game.

The stylish batsman is blessed with great technique and can go for the big shots in the latter part of the innings. The right-handed batsman does have the game to do well in the ODIs, and an opportunity against West Indies could have done him a world of good.
