Regis Chakabva made his ODI debut for Zimbabwe in 2008 against Pakistan and has represented them in 34 ODIs thus far. From those matches, he has scored 454 runs and has contributed in 23 dismissals.

In the 3rd ODI against Bangladesh at Dhaka on 11th November 2015, he effected 3 stumpings of Tamim Iqbal, Imrul Kayes and Mushfiqur Rahim off the bowling of Cremer, Raza and Waller respectively. Though Zimbabwe lost the match by 61 runs, his keeping efforts were well appreciated by the various experts.
