The tenth edition of the Women’s PM Cup, organized by the Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN), is set to take place from January 14 to January 25. Spanning 12 days, the tournament will feature a total of 22 matches, culminating in the final on January 25. All matches will be played at the Dhangadi Fapla International Cricket Stadium.
The competition will see nine teams vying for the title, divided into two groups. Group A consists of Armed Police Force Club Women, Lumbini Province Women, Gandaki Province Women, Karnali Province Women, and Sudur Paschim Province Women.
Group B includes Bagmati Province Women, Madhesh Province Women, Koshi Province Women, and the newly added Tribhuvan Army Club Women. Matches will follow a single round-robin format, with the top two teams from each group advancing to the Super Four stage.
Since its inception in 2015, the Women’s PM Cup has established itself as a prestigious domestic cricket tournament in Nepal. Armed Police Force Club Women have dominated the event, securing six titles. Koshi Province and Sudur Paschim Province have each claimed one championship. This year marks the addition of the Tribhuvan Army Club Women, expanding the tournament to nine teams from the previous eight.
In the last edition, Armed Police Force Club Women emerged victorious in a tightly contested final, successfully defending a target of 114 runs against Koshi Province Women. This year’s tournament promises to continue its legacy of competitive cricket, providing a platform for players to showcase their talent and contribute to the growth of women’s cricket in Nepal.
