The playing surface of the New Road County Cricket Ground was underwater after the River Avon broke its banks and flooded on September 9, 2008 in Worcester, England.
Home to the Worcestershire County Cricket Club, New Road in Worcester, England is flooded by the river Severn and the Worcestershire CCC authorities are battling the water to prepare the pitch for the upcoming new season.
The New Road ground is often flooded in the winter, and was severely affected by the floods of July 2007 as the ground was underwater with just six weeks to the start of their campaign, leading to the cancellation of several matches.

According to Mirror, the heavy torrential rain in the West County in the recent few weeks have resulted the nearby river to burst its banks leading to widespread disruption to many parts of the stadium.
The authorities now wait until the flood water recedes so that they can being their preparations as they are scheduled to play a season friendly in mid-March.
