Under his leadership, Canada was able to win one match in the tournament. Bagai top-scored in that match as his victorious 64* against Kenya helped Canada win the match.

However, after the 2011 World Cup, he announced his retirement from international cricket and shifted his career in studies to become an MBA in the future.

After successfully completing MBA he again signed with Canada but the time was up for the former captain as he could not repeat his past performance, so again he retired after a disappointing stint in 2013.

Due to lack of interest in the sport in Canada, Bagai is currently working as a management consultant in McKinsey AMP Company of Canada. But, he was a part of the Masters Champions League which shows Ashish‘s desire to play cricket.
