Elton Chigumbura has shone in the limited overs format for Zimbabwe

Elton Chigumbura is one of the most experienced all-rounders of Zimbabwe. With his solid batting and bowling skills, Elton Chigumbura has shone in the limited overs format for Zimbabwe.

So, he was handed over the captaincy of the team in World Cup 2011 but Zimbabwe could only register two wins in the tournament.

Due to the team‘s exit from the 2011 World Cup Elton Chigumbura’s position as the captain was snatched away from their board and handed over to Brendan Taylor.

After the retirement of Brendan Taylor, Elton Chigumbura was re-named as the captain but due to poor performances, he finally stepped down as the captain in 2016.

Currently, Elton Chigumbura is consistently playing in all the three formats for his nation and giving his best to his team. Zimbabwe Cricket has improved a lot in the past few years and Chigumbura deserves the credit for some part of the success.
