Pant is a hard-hitting batsman who can strike the ball out of the ground with ease, but his aggression can also sometimes make him gift his wicket wicket away. That is one of the reasons why Pant is not in the squad and Dinesh Karthik was chosen ahead of him.

Just like Rayudu, Pant also is a part of the reserve players. The young Delhi lad is currently a playing for the Delhi Capitals, where he has impressed everyone with both his batting and his wicketkeeping - just like last year, where he finished as the second highest run-getter after Kane Williamson.

Pant also has terrific numbers when it comes to the longest format. His name will definitely be on the minds of the selectors while looking for Jadhav's alternative for the World Cup.
