3. Manish Pandey
A few months ago, nobody would have imagined Manish Pandey had a chance of making it to the World Cup squad. And yet that's what the situation is right now.
The right-handed batsman made his debut in the national colors back in 2015, and hasn't been able to cement his place since. He has never shown enough consistency with the bat in the chances he's been given, which is why he hasn't been looked at as a long-term option for a while now.
Pandey had a terrible time in last year's IPL season too, and he started the current season in the same fashion. But he has made a stirring comeback for Sunrisers Hyderabad in the last few matches, smashing a total of 314 runs at a massive average of 44.
Pandey scored three back-to-back half centuries which went a long way in ensuring SRH made it to the playoffs.
Due to all of this, he has once again come into the eyes of the selectors out of nowhere. Pandey's form will be taken into account if there is a need for finding an alternative for a middle order batsman in the World Cup.
