#1 Most runs in a World Cup season
The 'Master Blaster' Sachin Tendulkar also holds the record of scoring most runs in the World Cup. Tendulkar achieved this feat in the 8th edition of the Cricket World Cup — World Cup 2003. Averaging more than 60 with the willow in the World Cup 2003, Tendulkar amassed 673 runs with an excellent strike-rate of about 89. Sachin played an exemplary knock of 152 runs against Namibia which was his only ton of that season. He also scored 6 half-centuries which included two 90+ scores against Pakistan and Sri Lanka. The great Sachin Tendulkar also played one of the best World Cup knocks in the same edition. Chasing a big total of 274 runs in a pleasure match against Pakistan, Tendulkar played a match-winning knock of 98 runs off just 75 balls against the likes of Wasim Akram, Shoaib Akhtar, and Waqar Younis. Sachin had a dream run in the WC 2003 as a batsman but the 'Men in Blue' lost to Australia in the Finals which would have definitely hurt Sachin.
