#2. Rohit became 2nd Indian to score 500+ runs in one edition of the Cup
Rohit Sharma's golden run of form continued as he completed his fourth hundred in this World Cup. However, he needs to thank his luck as well for the feat as he was dropped early in his innings.
With this, Rohit equaled Kumar Sangakkara's record of most hundreds in a single edition of the World Cup and with him in the form of his life, he looks well on his way to break the Sri Lankan's record.
He also became the second Indian batsman after Sachin Tendulkar to score 500+ runs in a single edition of the World Cup. Sachin had scored 523 runs in the 1996 edition of the World Cup, and had amassed 673 runs in the 2003 edition. Currently, Rohit has 544 runs in this World Cup and is currently leading the batting charts.
