The two batsmen have been the cornerstones of the Indian batting effort this World Cup and have had to shoulder a lot of responsibility with the middle and lower middle-order being inconsistent. Due to this, the two have often curbed their natural attacking instincts, especially in the middle overs. Often, their departures have led to a significant slowdown in India's run rate. The two will be vital in the business end of the tournament as well.
