West Indies finished the tournament in 9th place
After a dominant victory against Pakistan, West Indies were considered favourites to enter the semi-finals. However, it all went downhill from there. Poor form, controversial umpiring decisions, and injuries contributed towards West Indies’ early exit from the tournament. Chris Gayle, Shai Hope, and Andre Russell were in tremendous form heading into the tournament, but none of them could deliver when it mattered the most.

Andre Russell struggled throughout the tournament with an injury which impacted his performance with the bat and ball. While their bowling showed glimpses of their rich tradition their batting, particularly their top order, succumbed to the pressure of the big stage.
There were a couple of matches in the tournament they should’ve won, but they failed to hold their nerves together. As a result, they finished the tournament with just two wins out of nine games.

A wrestling aficionado since childhood, Sunil used to imitate his favorite wrestlers as a young kid, and started writing professionally about the sport via Sportskeeda’s revenue-sharing opportunity.
Sunil admires former world champions AJ Styles, Will Ospreay, and Kenny Omega for their ability to consistently deliver great matches as well as entertain crowds with their mic skills.
If ever given a chance to change a storyline, Sunil would have booked Roman Reigns to end The Undertaker’s WrestleMania streak instead of Brock Lesnar. According to him, The Tribal Chief needed the victory more than Brock Lesnar, as the latter was already an established performer when he defeated ‘Taker. He would’ve also made that as Taker’s final match.
