Australia has been the most consistent team in World Cup history
There is always something about the Australian team when it comes to the World Cup. They always seem to pull themselves through and deliver great performances and this year was no exception. Furthermore, David Warner and Steve Smith’s return only strengthened a misfiring batting lineup. Australia dominated the league stages and lost just two matches (one against India and the other against South Africa).

David Warner carried over his form from the IPL and finished as the second-highest run-scorer of the tournament with 647 runs. His opening partner was no slouch either. Warner and Aaron Finch were the most destructive opening pair in the tournament. Steve Smith also chipped in with a few handy runs.
While Warner and Finch dominated with the bat, Mitchel Starc ripped through opponents with the ball. Starc finished as the leading wicket-taker of the tournament. Despite dominant performances in the league stages, the Aussies struggled to beat long-time rivals and the hosts England in the semi-final succumbing to their first-ever semi-final defeat in their World Cup history.

If ever given a chance to change a storyline, Sunil would have booked Roman Reigns to end The Undertaker’s WrestleMania streak instead of Brock Lesnar. According to him, The Tribal Chief needed the victory more than Brock Lesnar, as the latter was already an established performer when he defeated ‘Taker.
