He was the second bowler after Mohammad Shami to register a hat-trick in World Cup 2019 when he picked up the feat against Australia in a group stage match at Lord's. His other notable performance was an incisive 4/30 against the West Indies.

Lockie Ferguson was the leading wicket-taker for New Zealand in World Cup 2019 and the second-highest in the tournament after Mitchell Starc.
Ferguson was impressive throughout the tournament as he grabbed 21 wickets in nine matches. He clocked in some great speeds and consistently hit the 145 kph mark. He dismantled the opposition in the middle overs of the innings and took advantage of the pressure created by the opening bowlers.
