Kane Williamson led his team from the front in the tournament. He was rightly adjudged as the Player of the Tournament at the end of the competition. The Kiwi skipper finished the tournament with a fantastic average of 82.57 and was the leading run-scorer for New Zealand.
Williamson scored 578 runs in his nine innings and finished fourth in the overall run-getters list. He saved his team from defeats in the matches against South Africa and West Indies by scoring centuries in both the games apart from which he also scored two half-centuries.

Rohit Sharma was the highest run-scorer of the ICC Cricket World Cup 2019. He created a new World Cup record by slamming four consecutive centuries in a single edition of the World Cup. His hundreds against Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, South Africa, and Pakistan helped India win those matches, however, Rohit's century against England went in vain.
Rohit scored 648 runs in nine matches. Apart from five centuries in the tournament, he also scored a half-century against Australia in the league stage. Though he scored only 1 run in the crucial semi-final, his individual World Cup 2019 campaign was relatively a huge success.
