British rider and Tour de France favourite Chris Froome won Stage 15 of Tour de France 2013. After losing to Matteo Trentin in the previous stage, Froome, who also is the overall leader, jumped back to winning ways, winning on Sunday. Sunday’s Stage 15 involved a 13-mile climb up Mount Ventoux. Froome was in an aggressive mode right from the start.
He attacked about two-thirds into the climb, out-racing two time champion Alberto Contador, leaving the Spaniard behind by about 1 minute 40 seconds. Sunday’s win will be a big morale boost for the Briton since the Ventoux is one of the most challenging climbs in the Tour’s history over 110 years.
