SOUNDBITE (ENGLISH), Cadel Evans, BMC rider“After the Giro, I had a bit of trouble waking up for quite a while, but that’s normal and day by day you get better and the focus is more on recovery than training. Because with the block of racing and the effort that you make at the Giro, it’s obviously pretty solid block of training that you have in three weeks. But the important is to recover and this time around, as opposed to 2010, I come into the last 2 weeks, I come into the Tour feeling a lot fresher, just a lot fresher.”
“Last year, I think we had a particular Tour course, it was a bit different not having as many mountain top finishes, and of course the importance of the time trials was increased, which suited Bradley’s [Wiggins] characteristics almost perfectly. This year, a lot more hill-top finishes, more hilly time trial and I think that is going to suit Froome a lot better. And like any race, whether it’s against Wiggins or Froome, anyone for that matter, you have to be good everywhere, and take some time whether that be on the mountain-top finishes or the time trials if you want to win.”
