Frenchman Alexis Vuillermoz of AG2R La Mondiale team has won the eighth stage of the Tour de France after a 181.5-km ride from Rennes to Mur de Bretagne.
Sky's British rider Chris Froome kept the leader's yellow jersey after finishing eighth on Saturday, reported Xinhua news agency.
British rider Dan Martin was second and Spaniard Alejandro Valverde placed third.
Peter Sagan of Slovakia, coming fourth in the stage, stands second overall before American Tejay Van Garderen.
BMC leads the teams.
Sunday's ninth stage is a team time trial and Monday is a well-earned rest day.
