Destiny Beta will be open for all PlayStation and Xbox users, Bungie announced on Saturday.
Bungie is conducting a public Beta test of Destiny, including most major modes and activities featured in the game, prior to its launch on 9th September, 2014.
The official statement released by Bungie reads, “The Beta has been eye-opening so far. We’ve watched the world of Destiny come to life. Guardians from every platform have arrived at the Tower from their battles in the wild. We have watched your adventures with great interest, and listened to your feedback. Your missions have provided us with volumes of discoveries we can use to prepare for the launch of Destiny in September."
"Our work is not done. There is more we can learn. To make this happen, we need more Guardians to play. This is, above all else, a test."
“Today, at 4:00 PM PDT, we’re opening the Destiny Beta to anyone who wants to create a character and walk in their boots. There are, of course, some requirements. Aside from all the standard requirements, you’ll need to be brave. Help us deliver the game you deserve. Before we shut this party down, we’ll welcome everyone who wants a preview of this brave new world. If you have yet to play Destiny, look for offers to download the Beta directly from your console later on this afternoon.”
“If you have played the Beta, please prepare for new arrivals. We know you won’t go easy on them in the Crucible. Show no mercy. From the creators of multi-billion dollar conception Halo, Bungie developers are set to uncover their upcoming mythic science fiction, a multiplayer first person shooter which will be massive in terms of online features and will be roleplaying in nature. It will be published by Activision as a part of their 10 year deal.”
The setting is in a post-apocalyptic ‘Golden Age’ seven hundred years into the future. The plot revolves around the concept of ‘The Traveller’ who is responsible for the scattered colonization of humans throughout the Solar system. But after”the Collapse” occurred, mankind faces the threat of extinction as the ruins of their races lie buried in the dunes of Mars, hidden in the jungles of Venus, lost in a wild and abandoned Earth.
Activision and Bungie have recently unveiled their new trailer for the game that shows the contents players will get by pre-ordering the game.
