Senscape, an Argentinian developer has now acquired the license for video games based on the works of H.P Lovecraft and the first project will be based on the writer’s novel itself called The Case Of Charles Dexter Ward.
The game will be set in Lovecraft’s hometown of Providence, and the character of Charles Dexter Ward resembles that of Lovecraft himself.
The storyline goes that Charles Dexter Ward investigates the mysterious exploits of his ancestor, Joseph Curwen who had become notorious for lurking in the graveyards, conducting strange experiments and never showed the signs of ageing. Ward then begins to reproduce some of his ancestors experiments and from thereon the actual game begins.

Gamers are to look forward to this game as an official license had never been granted before for several video games and to any of Lovecraft’s Cthulhu mytos.
Gamers developer Agustin Cordes explained the process of acquiring the Lovecraft license as “It took me about 18 months just to negotiate the license for the project," he says. "It wasn’t easy, and indeed, this isn’t typical in video games.
"Usually, developers choose to deal with Chaosium Inc. who owns the more common “Call of Cthulhu” license. It’s probably the easier path, and we have seen plenty of such spin-off games in the past — and some really amazing ones such as Shadow of the Comet — but this is the first true, official one directly based on the only novel written by Lovecraft."
The project will be receiving assistance from the renowned lovecraft scholar S.T Joshi and the developers hint that if this game should prove to be successful than future adaptation works are possible.
The Game is currently in development in the Lovecraftian- influences Asylum.
