Master Chief is the main character of Halo 5

As revealed earlier, there was some speculation that Agent Locke was the main character of the upcoming game Halo 5: Guardians. But, now the game’s developer Frank O’Connor revealed clearly in Reddit website that Master Chief is truly the main character and hero of this game as Agent Locke is more of a “primary character”.

The voice actor for Agent Locke (Mike Colter) revealed some major plot details in X-One magazine earlier that Agent Locke will be a “primary character” in the game and the players take control of Locke to find the whereabouts of Master Chief. He also mentioned that Locke and Chief have an interesting relationship where Locke doesn’t know whether Master Chief is “a friend or a foe”.

As you can see from the response above, Master Chief is the main hero and there are certainly no plans to make a main entry Halo game without him.
