A first glimpse at Blizzard’s next big game, Overwatch – a team-based multiplayer shooter was revealed on November 7 at Blizzcon 2014 by Chris Metzen. The public release saw the launch of two trailers (below), one of which is Pixar-like animated trailer while the other shows a glimpse of the gameplay. Judging by the second trailer, the game is a class based shooter where each character has unique abilities, with a cartoon art style similar to that found in Team Fortress 2.

Blizzard has also issued an official Press Release announcing Overwatch.
“Overwatch is our take on a vibrant, near-future universe with amped-up characters and action-packed team-based gameplay,” said Mike Morhaime, CEO and cofounder of Blizzard Entertainment. “With every new Blizzard game, we look at our favorite aspects of a genre and put our own spin on things. Our goal with Overwatch is to create an awesome FPS experience that’s more accessible to a much wider audience while delivering the action and depth that shooter fans love.”
From the trailers, the game seems pretty impressive and being a Blizzard title, much is expected of it. An official release date for the game isn’t declared. However, A Beta for Overwatch is coming in 2015. You can sign up for the beta version here.
