With Super Smash Bros. for Wii U set to release in a week, Nintendo has announced that it is exclusively letting players who pre-ordered their digital copy of the game to pre-load it before its official launch. This way players can avoid the rush of the first day launch by getting into it the game while the rest will be still be downloading it. So if you have pre-ordered the game, you can get to preloading your game 72 hours before its release.
Nintendo has stated “If you pre-order on Nintendo.com, we’ll send your download code within 72 hours of the game’s launch. You can then redeem online or manually to pre-load the game. That means you’ll be able to play after a small game update when it’s officially released.
Players with the pre-purchased copy will receive an email from Nintendo with a redemption code that will allow for pre-loading the game. The pre-load will not, however, include the whole game as there may be some more data and even day one patches that will need to be downloaded upon the games release. But pre-loaded players will still get quite a head start. Of course, those who bought physical copy of the game can start playing immediately after its launch and patch download as well.
