The poster that raised suspicions

One of the most anticipated games of the year, WWE 2K15 as we all know has John Cena as it’s cover superstar. But a recent poster suggests that before Cena’s name came into consideration, it was actually Daniel Bryan’s name that was doing the rounds.

A picture of Daniel Bryan holding the world titles emerged suddenly which led to these speculations. This was advertised at GameStop and also has the release date of October 28 for the 2K15 game apart from sporting a new logo for the same.

Since Bryan’s popularity among the fans has been on a rise for a while now, it has been widely reported that this was supposed to be the initial cover for the game, until the makers decided to go for Cena.

Bryan was present on the cover alongside ‘The Rock’ for last year’s edition, but since the game is making it’s debut on PS4 and Xbox One, the makers might have gone back to John Cena in order to please his large legion of fans.

2K14 makes lesser profit compared to WWE ‘13

Release of the financial reports for this year caused a concern for the WWE as the sales of WWE 2K14 have been reported to be lesser than WWE ‘13.

“Licensing revenues were $5.5 million as compared to $6.7 million in the prior year quarter, primarily driven by lower sales and effective pricing of our franchise video game”, said the report. The game was sold at a cheaper rate and despite that, the game sold $1.2 million less than the previous edition did during the same quarter last year.

The reasons are unknown but it might be due to the fact that GTA V was released before 2K14 and it had broken all sorts of records. This time though, the expectations are much higher and with Sting set to feature for the very first time, the fans are gripped for the game’s release.
