For all you gamers who grew up in the 80’s and 90’s, you probably remember your time spent at the arcade. All those hours and coins used up while playing your way through different levels to get a high score with no real reward except the fun of it all, having your initials ranked up there on the score list, and then showing off to your friends about it, yeah those were the days!. So while your reminiscing about the good old days and getting all nostalgic here’s some epic news for you!
SEGA will be releasing its 3D classics exclusively for Nintendo 3DS, the first of which will be 3D After Burner releasing in early 2015. The second set of classic titles which include 3D Fantasy Zone, 3D Fantasy Zone II, 3D OutRun and 3D Thunder Blade will then be released on a monthly basis. The games will have original sound tracks, new modes to explore and more options. It doesn’t just stop there though, SEGA has gone as far as recreating the environment down to the mechanical sounds from the arcade machines themselves so as to give players that old school arcade feel.
“These games were completely re-built to offer a robust 3D experience that offers more modern gameplay while still keeping true to the original,” commented John Cheng, President and COO at SEGA of America.
These titles are priced at $5.99 and will be available to download on the Nintendo eShop. So whether you’re a nineties kid looking to relive those wonder years or a classic arcade game fan then these classic titles are perfect for you.
