StarCraft 2: Legacy of the Void announced

Blizzard has now officially announced StarCraft 2 : Legacy of the Void which will be an expansion for Starcraft 2 : Wings Of Liberty. The announcement came at Blizzcon yesterday during the convention’s opening ceremonies.

The third act of the real time strategy title has been known to be gearing up for some time now. As a result, the announcement does not seem to have surprised many people. A trailer for the expansion was revealed recently for convention goers.The expansion will include additional units and multiplayer changes from Wings of Liberty, as well as a continuing campaign focusing on the Protoss element of the StarCraft 2 storyline. The fate of all characters is said to be revealed in the final chapter of StarCraft 2 with the campaign focussing on Artanis as its main character which will span approximately 20 missions. We will also see the inroduction of new multiplayer units for all three races in Legacy of the Void.

The game will a stand-alone product and won't require the original game. As of now, no release date has been announced.
