ARCADIA, California (AFP) –
Groupie Doll lived up to her favorite’s billing with a dominant victory Saturday in the seven-furlong, $1 million Breeders’ Cup Filly and Mare Sprint.
The 4-year-old trained by William Bradley made her move around the turn, cruising past Dust and Diamonds and thundering home under Rajiv Maragh to win by 4 1/2 lengths.
Dust and Diamonds settled for second in the second of nine races on the Breeders’ Cup slate Saturday at Santa Anita and Switch was third.
