2XKO Alpha Lab playtest is scheduled to run from August 8 to 19, 2024. This is one of the game's rougher drafts, where players can test out how the game works and also report all the inefficiencies back to the developers.

Even though it is only a start, Riot Games has emphasized players displaying their characters uniquely in the game. This is by personalizing the look of the Champions in the game.

A few areas of customization include:

  • Avatar: An avatar is how you will appear in the game's lobby. You can change everything from the avatar's style to their body in the game to give you a better feel for your own character. You can also unlock new customization options as you progress through the battle pass.
  • Chromas: Chromas are essentially alternate colors. When two teams pick the same Champions, different Chromas can separate one from another. It also helps show a certain taste in the color palette. To explore this option better, players can get to the Champion section in the Main Menu and then to the Skins option. For the Alpha Lab playtest of 2XKO, Chromas can be unlocked for 100 credits.
  • Emotes and stickers: These are pretty basic to many games. Emotes are when your character performs a certain type of movement while stickers appear above your avatar as an icon. To use these while in the lobby, press the (-) button for PC, RT for Xbox Series X|S, and R2 for PlayStation 5.
  • Skins: Finally, skins change the way your character looks in the game. During the Alpha Lab test, the new Bladesong Yasuo and Dynasty Ahri skins will be available for free. You can also unlock Chromas for skins through the Battle Pass.

This is how Riot Games intends to add a touch of personalization to the game. Currently, the playtest is underway and you can register for it from the official game website as long as you have a Riot Games account.
