While this is not a new game, this is a really challenging and thrilling expansion for Sid Meier's Civilization VI. The expansion features much more realistic hurdles to the game such as natural disasters, nuclear fallout, new leaders and different types of diplomacy. The game has a lot of new layers added which make it a lot harder to achieve victories.
They have also introduced new civics and technologies that line up with our real world 21st century ones. The game is also available on iOS and Nintendo Switch, so hopefully, we get to see the expansion on those platforms as well. Gathering the Storm is the second expansion of the game. The first expansion Rise and Fall, was released on February 2018.
For those who haven't played Civilization or games like it, it does have a high learning curve but once you learn it's mechanics, there is just so much you can do in the game.
