Season 9 for League of Legends has concluded, and fans are gearing up for Season 10 of the game. The preseason changes have already rolled on the live servers, and the face of Summoner’s Rift has completely changed. The preseason will give players enough time to adapt to the changes and prepare for Season 10.
Spear of Shojin has been removed
Spear of Shojin made its debut at the start of Season 8. The item gave +60 attack and +250 health along with a 20% cooldown reduction. However, the item’s passive ability made it overpowered and unstable when wielded by its most synergistic users. The passive ability gave 50% bonus attack speed and refunded 20% of users’ basic abilities cooldown.

This was unhealthy for the competitive scene of the game, so Riot Games removed the item. Champions like Jax and Renekton were great abusers of Spear of Shojin and the players who main these champions will definitely miss the item moving forward.
Kleptomancy can't be used anymore
Similar to Spear of Shojin, Kleptomancy was overpowered when used by the right champions. The Rune granted +5 Gold whenever a player uses a basic attack after casting an ability. The Rune also granted consumable items occasionally. These items varied from Mana pots, Health pots to Vision wards. The Rune was very popular throughout Season 8 and Season 10, and several champions abused it. Ezreal was one of the most played ADC in Season 9, and this was mainly due to him being a great user of Kleptomancy.
Summoner's Rift has changed
Summoner’s Rift has been revamped for the upcoming soon. Riot Games have changed the Dragon system, where slaying a Dragon will change the layout of the map accordingly. The terrain near the top side and the bot side have also changed, making it very different from the map of last season.
Twisted Treeline won't be playable anymore
Twisted Teeline was released back in 2009, along with Summoner's Rift. After a tenure of almost 10 years, Riot Games have retired the map due to low popularity. A tiny amount of the actual player base was playing Twisted Treeline, and the map was rarely updated in the past few seasons. Nevertheless, the map is an integral part of League of Legends’ history, and the community will certainly miss it moving forward.
